1ST BATTALION, 87TH INFANTRY CLIMB FOR OUR FALLEN

In August 2019, seven Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry will climb Mount Washington in New Hampshire (the Northeast’s highest peak) to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice during their service in 1-87 IN from World War II to present.

Since the Global War on Terrorism began in 2001, thirteen members from 1-87 IN have been killed during service in Afghanistan and Iraq.  To memorialize Summit’s fallen comrades, and honor their families, our Summit Climb Team will recognize each of them by climbing to the top of Mount Washington (6,288 feet) while carrying a U.S. flag and dog tags inscribed with their names.  At the peak, the team will perform a roll call to remember these Summit heroes.

To accomplish this memorial climb, Camaraderie of Courage, a non-profit organization supporting 10th Mountain Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, is proud to support this endeavour by selling CLIMB FOR OUR FALLEN shirts and collecting donations.  By purchasing a shirt or making a donation, you can support 1-87 IN’s CLIMB FOR OUR FALLEN and pay homage to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
